Want your iPhone to flash when it notifies you of a new text message? Make sure that you do not have Airport Mode or Do Not Disturb turned on. If your phone still isnt lighting up when you receive texts, follow the steps in this article.

TAP THE SETTINGS APP FROM YOUR IPHONES HOME SCREEN. 2
TAP "NOTIFICATIONS" TO YOUR SETTINGS ABOUT WHICH APPS CAN NOTIFY YOU. In iOS 7, this bar is labelled "Notification Center".

SCROLL DOWN AND TAP "MESSAGES." 4
MAKE SURE THAT "NOTIFICATION CENTER" IS TURNED ON. Under "Alert Style," make sure either Banners or Alerts is selected.
Turn "Badge App Icon" on.
Turn "View in Lock Screen" on.

NEXT TIME YOU RECEIVE A TEXT, YOUR PHONE SHOULD LIGHT UP WITH THE NOTIFICATION. WARNINGS
Your phone may not flash if you have Airplane Mode or "Do Not Disturb" Mode turned on. Make sure both of these are off.
